The Atlantic Basin is recasting the world’s energy future via innovations in unconventional, offshore/marine energy and renewable energies, yet the implications for the EU and other actors are not well known or understood. The Network will harness expertise across the Atlantic space to explore these dynamics, including their mutual interaction; the influence of shifting prices and changing supply and demand; impact on environmental trends, climate change, maritime commerce, efforts to tackle energy poverty, and other issues; and the degree to which these dynamics shape and affect the emergence of an Atlantic area, including implications for the EU as an Atlantic actor.
