More commerce flows within the Atlantic Basin than any other. Greater knowledge of the shifting commercial dynamics between the EU and its Atlantic partners promises to generate greater understanding of the EU’s commercial interdependencies. This research activity will address continuities and changes in commercial connectivity across the Atlantic space; compare experience with sub-regional integration efforts such as the EU Single Market, EFTA, NAFTA, the Pacific Alliance, or ECOWAS, as well as efforts to build resilient, inclusive growth; explore the impact on the broader Atlantic of negotiations such as CETA and TTIP; and generate greater understanding how Asian economic engagement within the Atlantic Hemisphere is changing trade, investment and other economic linkages.
